What this course covers, and what it does not
- This is the theory portion of Entry-Level Driver Training. It is delivered online and completed at your own pace.
- You will also need behind-the-wheel training from a separate provider. Life Safety Driving School does not provide CDL behind-the-wheel instruction.
- The training provider for this course is GetDriversEd, not Life Safety Driving School.
Federal rules require that ELDT training come from a provider listed on the FMCSA Training Provider Registry. You can look up any provider on the registry before you buy.

Anyone applying for a first Class B CDL: straight trucks, buses, dump trucks and similar.
Who needs Class B
Class B covers single vehicles over 26,001 pounds, and those vehicles towing a trailer under 10,000 pounds. In practice that is delivery straight trucks, dump trucks, refuse vehicles, and most buses.
If this is your first CDL of any class, the Entry-Level Driver Training rule applies to you.
What this course is, and what it is not
This is the theory half only. It is online, self-paced, and ends in an assessment you need to pass at 80 percent.
The behind-the-wheel half is separate and has to be done in person with a registered provider. Life Safety Driving School does not offer CDL behind-the-wheel training.
